Abstract Background The pandemic influenza A H1N1 PIA virus infected large parts of the pediatric population with a wide clinical spectrum and an initially unknown complication rate. For these children a medical chart review was performed to determine their clinical characteristics and complications. In the current study, we therefore investigated clinical characteristics of all pediatric PIAH in a defined geographical region.

Laboratory methods Respiratory samples nasopharyngeal aspirate or nasopharyngeal swab or tracheal secretion from all three hospitals were routinely sent to the Institute of Virology and Immunobiology of the University of Wuerzburg and analyzed using reverse transcriptase-polymerase-chain-reaction RT-PCR or direct immunofluorescence DIF testing for influenza A and B. Date of admission, number of days in hospital, data on treatment, demographic, clinical and epidemiological data were obtained using a standardized and anonymous data collection form.

All data were collected for the duration of hospital stay. Statistical analysis For analysis of clinical parameters, all identified PIAH patients with symptoms starting before hospitalization or less than 72 h after hospitalization were included. Pietrusinski, and their six children: Carl W. She is survived by her step-brother, John D. Elaine and Carl enjoyed 61 years of marriage that welcomed 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She lived a life full of love for family and friends and welcomed all to visit her and Carl at their home in Wexford.

She graduated from St. Over the years, Maryan worked many jobs, but teaching, especially religious education, was her true passion. Maryan met the love of her life, James Cronin and they married in They had three beautiful children and Maryan raised them all with a strong sense of faith and respect. Maryan had the gift of balancing her career along with raising her family. But being of strong faith and resolve, Maryan persevered and redirected her energies towards her family and especially her grandchildren.

Maryan served, over 30 years, as the Director of Religious Education at St. Alphonsus church in Wexford, Pennsylvania, until her retirement. She also served in this role developing religious education programs and monitoring them for the Diocese of Pittsburgh. She also had the great honor of working with many young clergy who eventually went on to the highest levels of service in the Roman Catholic Church.

Cronin was personally invited to attend the ceremony and reception at the Vatican in Rome. Upon retirement, she moved to Poland, Ohio to be closer to her precious grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James, father Angelo and mother Marietta, as well as an infant son. In lieu of flowers, the family request any gifts or donations to be made to the American Diabetes Association. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic there is no visitation.

Carmel Parish. Masks and social distancing required. Cindy was being visited and comforted by her children. Born in Pittsburgh, Ms. Noland was the daughter of the late Charles L. Ludolff of Wexford. Cindy loved animals from an early age raising rabbits, dogs, guinea pigs, and the occasional Easter chick. During her adolescence Cindy trained horses, a passion she carried into her adult life.

Noland spent many years volunteering for Butler County 4-H including organizing the West Sunbury Wranglers horse club, once receiving 4-H leader of the year. Cindy had a very generous and kind heart. She loved to help and care for people and is fondly remembered by her loved ones and those whom she befriended. In recent years Cindy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and encouraged their participation in sports and various club activities.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Rick Ludolff. In accordance with her wishes, there are no services. Memorial contributions can be made to Trails End Conservancy, Inc. Gary was a graduate of Penn Hills High School.

Gary was a dedicated member of the St. Alexis St. Aidan Parish for over 30 years. He emulates the heart of the parish. He epitomizes the heart of a Christian. Hunkele, Charlotte Age 84, formerly of Town of McCandless, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday , January 2, ; She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years William C.

She is survived by her daughters, Monique L. Hockman William and Renee M. Havrilla Joseph and three grandchildren, Katherine E. Saunier Brandon , Elizabeth N. Shumaker and William T. She met her future husband, William, in grade school. After graduating from North Hills High School, she attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated with a degree in English and received her elementary teaching certification.

She taught at several schools in the North Hills School District until she had her daughters and then resumed teaching at St. Alphonsus School in Wexford once her girls were older. She taught 4th grade with her long-time friend, Ruth Lucyk and retired after 15 plus years. After retirement, Charlotte loved to spend time playing bingo, working in her garden, canning, baking, knitting and embroidering quilts and spending time with her grandchildren.

Charlotte and Bill made their home in McCandless Township where they lived for more than 55 years and more recently ,Charlotte resided at Asbury Place in Mt. Mildred and her husband Albert resided in both McCandless Township and Boynton Beach Florida during their year marriage until relocating to Erie Pennsylvania in to be closer to family.

Mildred will be forever remembered for her devout faith in God and the stories that she told of all the experiences her life afforded to her.
